How to Wear Gold Lipstick?

When it comes to bold lip colors, there’s no color that makes a statement quite as gold lipstick does. Bold and sassy, this look can be hard to pull off if you’re not sure what you’re doing, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll find yourself reaching for this look time and again! Keep reading below to learn the ins and outs of wearing this popular lipstick color.

What to Look for in a Gold Lipstick

Gold Lipstick

What’s your skin tone? Are you using a lip liner? What color are you wearing on your eyes? These are all factors that can help determine which gold lipstick will work best for you. This is why it’s a good idea to keep a variety of shades in your makeup kit.

I have four that I like, but when I wore them side by side, I realized they’re all different colors! One had more yellow tones, one was more pink-gold, and one was more bronzey-bronze. When choosing gold lipstick (or any lipstick), it’s important to know what undertone you have so the shade looks natural on your lips – not too blue or too yellow. That way, everyone can find their perfect match!

When should you wear gold lipstick?

For those who are thinking about wearing gold lipstick for the first time, you may want to think again. It is a bold color that needs to be worn with confidence. There are a few occasions where I would recommend wearing gold lipstick:

 1) when you’re attending a wedding or other formal event

2) if you have a strong personality that can handle such a unique look

3) if you have an olive complexion and if your hair is dark brown, black, or any shade of red.

Lastly, I would only wear gold lipstick on my top lip for day-to-day use since it’s less noticeable than on both lips combined. The one exception would be if you were going for an ombre effect or if your lower lip has more definition than your upper lip. If this is the case, I suggest painting your bottom lip entirely in gold because it will create a much stronger statement!

Coverage, Finish, and Appearance

Gold lipstick can be a great way to glam up your makeup routine, but it’s important to know what type of gold lipstick you’re working with. The coverage, finish, and appearance of gold lipstick will vary depending on the formula. Some formulas are sheer while others are opaque in color. For example, a sheer formula will provide some coverage for your lips but not much else; whereas an opaque formula will offer more color as well as more coverage.

In addition, some types of finishes create a glossy look that others leave behind a matte finish. Whether you want something with a subtle sheen or vibrant shine, there is an option for everyone when it comes to gold lipsticks! Here are our recommendations on which gold lipstick best suits different skin tones:

Aromi Gold Digger Metallic Liquid Lipstick

Aromi’s metallic liquid lipstick is perfect for someone who wants a bold lip without being over the top. The color payoff is great, so you don’t need to use much of it. It also lasts a long time, which is perfect for someone who doesn’t like reapplying their makeup too often. And even though this lipstick comes in many different colors, I think gold is the most flattering on almost any skin tone.

So, if you’re looking for a new way to try out this lipstick trend, then I think that you should give this one a try! It’ll last you all day, won’t bleed or smudge, and will be sure to impress anyone who sees your makeup. What more could you want? There’s no denying that gold is making a huge comeback this season, with everyone from celebrities to bloggers sporting the trend.

Mac Frost Lipstick Golden Bronze with Shimmer

Gold Lipstick

Gold lipstick is a bold lip color with a high-shine finish, making it perfect for special occasions or if you’re feeling adventurous. Mac Frost Lip light Golden Bronze with Shimmer is one of my favorite gold lipsticks that I’ve found. It’s a beautiful, metallic bronze shade that looks good on all skin tones. Here are some tips on how to wear it:

1) Put on your favorite primer for even application

2) Apply your desired amount of gold lipstick

3) Line your lips with a matching liner or use lip balm for hydrated lips

4) Line the outer corners of your lips with gold liner for extra glamour

5) Add some mascara, blush, and eyeliner in order to complete your look

Mac DazzleGlass Go for Gold Sparkling Caramel Brown

Gold Lipstick

Gold lipstick is one of those makeup products that can be a bit tricky. It’s got a high-shine finish that can make it difficult to wear if you don’t have the right formula, and it’s also so pigmented that you have to use a lip brush, or else you’ll end up with your hairline all over your lips. With those hurdles in mind, I wanted to share my favorite gold lipsticks with you in the hopes that they’ll help you avoid some of the mistakes I’ve made over my years of wearing this bold shade.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Gold Goddess (041)

Gold Lipstick

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Gold Goddess is a perfect, affordable way to try out this iconic makeup trend. It has an opaque, creamy formula that’s easy to apply and won’t smudge or bleed. Plus, it’s available in eight different shades so you can find one that suits your skin tone.

This deep golden hue really pops against warm skin tones but still looks great on cool complexions as well. If you’re looking for a more subtle look, try adding a sheer gold gloss over top of your favorite nude lipstick.

Uoma Beauty Black Magic Metallic Lipstick in Lady of Gold

Gold Lipstick

Uoma Beauty Black Magic Metallic Liplight is a beautiful gold lipstick with a metallic finish. It’s intense but has just enough sheen for everyday wear. The formula is moisturizing and does not transfer. I’d recommend Uomo Beauty Black Magic Metallic Lipstick in Lady of Gold for those looking to sport an elegant, yet edgy look this season!

Uoma Beauty Black Magic Metallic Lipstick in Electra: As another option, there’s also the gorgeous color by Uoma Beauty. Their gloss doesn’t have quite as much of that heavy metallic feel like it doesn’t dry down as much. They’ve really thought about how to make it easy for people who don’t want something so bold.

It goes on lighter than it looks and isn’t as wet or tacky feeling so it feels more comfortable on your lips for long periods of time too which makes this one perfect for nights out or going to work during warmer months when you want that deep gold lip looks without being uncomfortable or too dramatic during the day.

Sephora Cream Lip Stain Golden Party 63

Gold Lipstick

This Sephora Cream Lip Stain is a great option for those looking for a nice, natural-looking gold lip color. It’s creamy but still has a matte finish that lasts for up to three hours with minimal touch-ups. And although it starts off as more of an apricot color, it does tend to deepen into more of a pinky-gold shade. I would recommend applying this with a lip brush for the best distribution of pigment, but you can also use your fingers if you’re in a pinch or just want something quick. It also has plenty of pigment so you don’t need much at all!

For those who are not keen on wearing heavy gold lipstick all day, this is an excellent alternative. It’s clear (like a gloss) and feels very moisturizing. With one swipe, the golden hue will even last around two hours without needing reapplication. Plus, it smells like cake batter which makes putting it on somewhat of a treat!

Maybelline Color Sensational Matte Metallics Lipstick Pure Gold

Gold Lipstick

Bold lip color is one of those things that can really make a statement. It doesn’t have to be a bright red or orange, but gold lipstick is just as powerful. If you’re looking for something that’s not too over the top, this may be your new favorite shade. Maybelline Color Sensational Matte Metallics Lipstick in Pure Gold is a great choice if you want your makeup routine to be quick and easy.

The formula glides on smoothly while leaving behind a beautiful finish that lasts all day. I love how it looks when paired with dark eyeshadow on my lids and black mascara, but it’s perfect for any look! Another great thing about this lipstick is the price – it retails for only $5.99 at most drugstores, making it an affordable option for everyone. One more reason to give gold a try!
